Show your friends how much you care.
Sometimes, telling them just isn't enough.
Every now and then, you should maybe give them a token of your appreciation. It doesn't have to be anything ostentatious.
Take this lighthouse, for instance. I made it for my friend M out of crisp rice treats. We met in Massachusetts. Massachusetts has a lot of lighthouses around its coast. So this seemed like a good idea.
What are friends for, if not to make and give crisp rice treats lighthouses?
Here's an "aerial" view. I think the foil below gives a nice impression of glistening water, no?

Neat, huh?
Tasty with milk or coffee! Or dipped in chocolate and topped with whipped cream. Or whatever.
And crisp rice treats are really malleable, so if you squeeze it gently, you can make your lighthouse taller and thinner, if you'd like! You must be careful, though, not to make it too thin, or it might flop over, which is a major bummer. I mean, who likes a limp lighthouse?
Anyway, to make a lighthouse of your own, add about 4 tbs. butter to a pot to melt. Add 5-6 c. mini marshmallows, and melt ans stir over low heat. Remove from heat and add as much crisp rice cereal as you like. Stir it up until it is well mixed, coat your hands and a clean modeling surface (like a plate, foil, or plastic cutting board) with butter, and mold your treats to any shape you desire! Fun and makes a great gift! Give it all away or eat the leftovers!
